Meet The Designer

Hi, My Name Is Makayla Walker Hanks

Hello, I am a Full-time graphic designer with over 7 years of experience in the Marketing industry. I am passionate about creating visual assets that deliver results. One of my core values when it comes to design is ensuring the ability to translate effectively by first starting with intentional decision-making.

With the increasing use of AI, the need for design that solves real problems is ever-growing. It is crucial to have design that not only looks intentional but also gets brand’s results and data.

I ensure that throughout my process, the design elements serve the design’s core purpose and align with the project brief. Every step of my process includes a reflection period where I evaluate every design element in the design, THis ensures that everything is perfectly curated to make an impact.

My Background

I have always been enamored with art and its history. I love the creativity and visual expression that art allows people like me to create. With that interest, I have taken many art classes throughout my education all the way to college. That has always been an interest of mine.

During high school, I decided to take college design classes at Ogden Weber Tech College and became proficient in Adobe software very quickly with the help of my professors. I found my love and passion for design in its ability to take creative ideas and artistic expressionism and apply them to real-world marketing and business experience.

After completing courses at Ogden Weber Tech College, I had the pleasure of working for Basin Creative Marketing, a super innovative creative marketing agency. In collaboration with other designers, I served long-term clients such as William Call, Basin Creative, Absolute Audio Visual, and Black Diamond Landscaping, just to name a few.

Throughout my time at Basin Creative, I have had the opportunity to learn and grow by also doing Website Design work for multiple clients through both WordPress and Wix.

As a marketing designer, I have also had the pleasure of working with Chick-fil-A on design projects. I was able to handle a lot of marketing assets, such as Social media campaigns, emails, and Print and Signage Marketing. One of my favorite projects with Chick-fil-A was repurposing metal signage. To drive more sales in both the drive-thru and front-of-store, I marketed Chick-fil-A’s catering option. The design included visuals of the most popular options and was strategically placed in the drive-thru while people waited in their cars. The design was also purposefully crafted for year-round use to avoid frequent signage changes. Within the next few months, that signage drove up catering sales by 48%. I was really happy with how those few intentional choices were able to make a true impact.
